Alasdair Gold reveals many European sides are eyeing Spurs forward

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Troy Parrott is attracting interest from across the continent ahead of the summer transfer window.

Gold has admitted that Parrott was already on the radar of many big European sides when he was a teenager, winning many admirers with his displays in the UEFA Youth League for Spurs.

There was reportedly a feeling among the scouts at the time that his technique would lend itself to playing in the continent and that has only been reinforced after his impressive showing in the Eredivisie for Excelsior Rotterdam.

Gold says that Parrott is now wanted by some of the big sides in the Eredivisie as well as the Serie A while a few Championship clubs are also keeping an eye on his situation.

Parrott’s EU passport makes him an attractive option for foreign clubs, with the 22-year-old expected to have plenty of suitors ahead of next season

Tottenham have big decision to make on Troy Parrott

The journalist reports that the Republic of Ireland international has always hoped to be able to establish himself in the Tottenham first-team.

He adds that Ange Postecoglou‘s side have a big decision to make this summer regarding whether to cash in on Parrott or keep him as an option for the Europa League squad, given his club-trained status.

Parrott admitted in an interview with Voetbal Primeur earlier this week that he does not know what his future holds in N17.

He said: “I don’t know exactly what will happen. I still have two matches here and then perhaps international matches, but I am looking forward to next season.”

When asked about becoming a first-team regular at Spurs, the Republic of Ireland international responded: “I’ve always wanted that, ever since I came to the UK as a boy.”

Postecoglou will likely want to take a closer look at Parrott during pre-season before making a final decision on his future.

The Australian did not get to assess the striker when he arrived last summer since the youngster had picked up a groin injury at the time.

Tottenham have an abundance of young attacking talent in the shape of the likes of Dane Scarlett, Jamie Donley, Jude Soonsup-Bell and Will Lankshear and it will be interesting to see what the plans are for Parrott beyond this summer.
