Alasdair Gold reveals ‘many within Spurs’ have one doubt about Levy

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that many at Tottenham doubt whether Daniel Levy will relinquish too much power to Fabio Paratici.

Paratici’s arrival at Spurs now looks imminent, with reports indicating that the Italian has already been working on the club’s managerial pursuit and transfer plans over the last few days.

The Athletic revealed earlier this week that Paratici is set to be confirmed as Tottenham’s new ‘general manager’, a role that will see more power entrusted to the Italian than the club’s previous sporting directors.

Gold has also now backed up that claim, stating that the 48-year-old will be given more responsibilities than a traditional director of football role, just like he had at Juventus.

The journalist revealed that many within the club have doubts about how much power Levy will delegate to the Italian given the Spurs chairman’s tendency to micromanage all aspects of the club.

However, Gold went on to add that Levy’s decision to go after Paritic’s top managerial targets is a positive sign which potentially indicates that the 59-year-old is ready to take a step back.
