The journalist reveals that the deal is in its final stages and that Spurs are confident of getting it over the line.

He also revealed that Romero has already reached a complete agreement on personal terms with the North London club ahead of the move.

Gold claimed that while Atalanta have already brought in Matteo Lovato from Hellas Verona, the Bergamo club will now sign another centre-back before confirming Romero’s sale to Spurs.

The negotiations between Spurs and Atalanta seems like it has been going on for an eternity. So, it is great to see that there is now finally some light at the end of the tunnel.

Romero was evidently Fabio Paratici’s number one target and so is a huge plus that we have seemingly been able to strike a deal for the 23-year-old despite cheaper alternatives being available.
