Alasdair Gold has taken to Twitter to reveal that Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new head coach looks to be coming to a close.
It has been 67 days since Tottenham decided to part company with Jose Mourinho with the club in seventh place in the Premier League and saw one route back into the Champions League end in humiliating fashion following defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
A whole host of names have been linked with succeeding the Portuguese over the past nine weeks including former boss Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso, Erik ten Hag, Graham Potter and Nuno Espirito Santo.
Gold has revealed that the club have now held extensive talks with the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager and he looks set to be Tottenham’s new man in charge.
It is said that Espirito Santo could be announced as Tottenham’s next head coach next week ahead of pre-season training taking place.
Understand that, barring a complete about turn (and we’ve had enough of those in these 67 days), the former Wolves boss could be in place at Tottenham next week just days before pre-season starts at Hotspur Way.
