Alasdair Gold reveals some at Spurs feel Ndombele is in familiar ‘cycle’ with five steps

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that some at Tottenham have noticed a ‘familiar cycle’ with Tanguy Ndombele in North London, with five key steps.

Ndombele allegedly informed Nuno Espirito Santo of his desire to leave Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

The midfielder thus failed to make Tottenham’s matchday squad for any of their first five matches of the new campaign.

The North London club failed to find a buyer for the Frenchman before the window slammed shut and sources have indicated the 24-year-old is now ready to fight for his place in the starting eleven after holding positive talks with both Nuno and Fabio Paratici.

However, Gold has now revealed that his sources at the club now see a familiar pattern emerging with the former Lyon man.

According to the journalist, people at the club explain that Ndombele’s cycle begins with him applying himself in training and his performances then improve on the pitch.

However, as soon as the midfielder starts doing well, he allegedly gets carried away with his success, starts believing he should play at a higher level and eventually pushes for a move away from Tottenham again.

It is said that Ndombele then goes through a period where he loses focus when he fails to get the move and the cycle begins again.

Gold also added that Tottenham’s record signing could return to competitive action in the Europa League Conference clash against Rennes on Thursday.

Let’s hope that Ndombele can finally break this cycle this season and go on to deliver on the promise he has shown.

However, I am not too optimistic as there is little evidence that he is capable of knuckling down and performing consistently over the campaign.

Even if Ndombele has a very good season, it will likely mean that he will push for a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona next summer.
