Alasdair Gold reveals Spurs are now finalising pre-season plans – Lady Gaga gets a mention

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now finalising their pre-season plans ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Having arrived mid-way into the campaign, Antonio Conte will be keen to have a proper pre-season with the squad to get his ideas across more clearly and drill certain patterns of play into the team.

Tottenham confirmed last month that the team will travel to South Korea in July to play two exhibition matches as part of the Coupang Play Series, with Football Asian later revealing that the Lilywhites are set to take on K League All-Stars before facing off against Mallorca.

The Athletic later claimed that Spurs could also play one pre-season match in Israel after the trip to Asia.

Gold has now said that the North London club are currently finalising their plans to play one match in Israel before returning to the UK.

The journalist revealed that the club would have to play their final pre-season match, ahead of the new season kicking off on August 6, away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This is because the venue is hosting Lady Gaga’s pandemic-postponed concerts on the preceding weekend.

Most of the teams Conte is managed (barring Chelsea) tend to peak during his second season in charge, which suggests that the players take time to adapt to his ideas.

It will certainly be valuable for the Italian and his coaching staff to have a full pre-season with the squad. However, with recent reports linking him with the PSG job (Le Parisien), it remains to be seen if he will still be at Spurs.
