Alasdair Gold reveals Spurs midfielder was ‘a very happy man’ last night

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold took to social media following Tottenham’s clash against Southampton last night to reveal that Tanguy Ndombele appeared to be in very high spirits.

Ndombele did not have the best of relationships with Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese coach replaced Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019.

It was rumoured that the midfielder wanted to leave the club last summer due to the breakdown in his relationship with the former Tottenham boss.

However, the pair seemed to have put their differences aside this season, with the Frenchman becoming a key player for Mourinho.

Ndombele even praised the special one for improving him while Mourinho was also complimentary of the midfielder’s performances.

Gold tweeted after Tottenham’s 2-1 win over the Saints, revealing that the club-record signing was in high spirits and even waved to the journalists in attendance.

Spurs Web Opinion

There will always be some players who are happy and others who are disappointed when a manager is sacked. Despite the fact that Ndombele has been a regular in the side this season, I believe that he and Mourinho were never really a good fit.

The former Lyon man is quite laidback and seems to thrive when allowed to express himself. Mourinho, on the other hand, is an extremely intense person and someone who is very risk-averse. Hopefully, Ndombele will get to play his natural game under Mason since he will not be as fearful of making mistakes and giving the ball away.
