Alasdair Gold reveals Spurs player is expected to sign new contract this summer

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Troy Parrott is now set to sign a new contract with Tottenham before sealing a season-long loan move.

Tottenham overcame Rangers 2-1 on Saturday to remain unbeaten in pre-season so far, with Harry Kane netting a quickfire brace at the start of the second half after the Scottish giants took the lead early in the encounter.

Conte made plenty of changes in the second half to give minutes to all the players, with Yves Bissouma, Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence making their first appearances in a Spurs shirt.

One notable absentee was Parrott, and Gold has now explained that it was because the Republic of Ireland international is close to sealing a loan move away from the club.

The journalist revealed Preston North End, Swansea, Middlesbrough and QPR have all expressed an interest in signing the 20-year-old.

Inews revealed a few days ago that while Tottenham are ready to loan Parrott out, they want the youngster to be deployed as a number nine instead of as a number ten as he was at MK Dons last season.

This season could end up being the making of Parrott as his impressive displays during the second half of last season would have done wonders to his confidence. 

The 20-year-old certainly has it in him to be one of the leading scorers in the Championship next season as long as he gets regular game time.
