Alasdair Gold reveals Spurs players have been ‘blown away’ by Conte in one week

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Antonio Conte has made a huge impression on the Tottenham Hotspur squad in the week since his appointment.

The doom and gloom that surrounded Spurs in the final couple of weeks of Nuno Espirito Santo’s short reign quickly dissipated and was replaced with a sense of excitement on the club’s confirmation last week of Conte’s appointment.

According to Gold, it is not just Spurs fans who are excited by the Italian’s arrival but the players as well.

The 52-year-old is said to have brought with him some of his predecessors’ qualities in addition to his own unique management and coaching style.

The former Chelsea boss has allegedly ‘breathed fresh left through the corridors of the club’ for the players and staff.

Gold also adds that the Tottenham players have been ‘blown away’ by Conte’s training sessions in his first week at the helm. The Spurs stars said to be impressed by the Italian’s attention to detail as well as his man-management skills.

Finally, the journalist reveals that Conte’s request to have Ryan Mason join his coaching team has gone down positively with the players and the staff.

If having a chance to work with someone of Conte’s pedigree does not excite the players, then nothing will. However, one should be wary of reading too much into this as we were hearing similar things at the start of Jose’s and even Nuno’s reign. Only time will tell if this proves to be a happy marriage.
