Alasdair Gold reveals Spurs’ stance on Harry Kane’s price tag this summer

According to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be unwilling to sell Harry Kane again this summer.

Tottenham managed to hold firm amidst Manchester City’s attempts to snap up Kane last summer but Pep Guardiola’s side were initially expected to reignite their interest in the 28-year-old again this summer (The Sun).

However, it has now emerged that City have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and are expected to activate his release clause (Daily Mail).

Kane is also reported to be on Manchester United’s radar (The Athletic) but the striker is not thought to be tempted by a move to Old Trafford (The Mirror).

Gold has now stated there is a growing hope within Spurs that Kane will remain a Tottenham player next season due to the transfer moves made by other clubs, allied with the North Londoners potentially getting back into the Champions League.

The journalist explains that despite the England captain having just two years left on his contract, his price tag is not any lower than it was last summer and Spurs remain unwilling to sell.

Spurs Web Opinion

The chances of Kane leaving Spurs this summer appear extremely slim, now that City look set to snap up Haaland. However, I still have my doubts over whether the 28-year-old will sign a new contract with the club after the events of last summer.
