Alasdair Gold reveals the latest on Tottenham’s pursuit of Milik and Skriniar

There has been plenty of speculation doing the rounds over the last 24 hours regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik and Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar.

Fabrizio Romano and Nicolo Schira have both claimed that the North Londoners are looking to complete deals for the duo.

Meanwhile, Calcio Mercato report that Tottenham have sent representatives to Italy to understand the margins involved in the negotiations for both players.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has now confirmed that the Lilywhites have begun negotiations with Inter over a deal for Skriniar.

Gold reveals that Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his options in central defence and that the Slovakian would fit the bill perfectly, having been a longtime target for the Lilywhites.

He claims that the only sticking point in the transfer is Inter’s asking price, with the Serie A giants reportedly demanding more than £50 million for the central defender.

However, Gold asserts that Spurs have cooled their interest in Milik and are unlikely to move for the Polish striker.

I cannot see us paying anywhere near £50m for Skriniar on the back of the investment we have made already unless we get a massive cash influx through selling someone like Dele Alli. Out of Skriniar and Milik, one would think that a deal for the Napoli man would be easier to pull off due to his contract situation.
