Alasdair Gold reveals two Spurs players have returned for pre-season earlier than expected

Alasdair Gold has confirmed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso have both reported back for pre-season training with Tottenham Hotspur earlier than expected.

The pair had been on extended leave from the club following their involvement with their respective nations this summer.

Gold revealed that Hojberg and Lo Celso have both been back in training with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side for a few days (Football.London).

Hojbjerg was a key part of Denmark’s Euro 2020 campaign, having helped the Dane’s to the semi-final stage before being eliminated by England. Lo Celso enjoyed better luck with Argentina, where he won the Copa America.

While the pair have returned to training, Harry Kane has failed to report for pre-season with Tottenham this morning on what should have been his first day back at the club.

Kane’s situation is obviously disappointing for all Tottenham fans to hear, especially given how lauded he is as a top professional while also being the captain of the England national team.

The news of Lo Celso and Hojbjerg both deciding to return early is a massive boost ahead of the Premier League opener against Manchester City; it will remain to be seen whether Harry Kane takes to the field in the same fixture.
