Alasdair Gold reveals update on Hugo Lloris’ contract situation at Spurs

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that the chances of Hugo Lloris leaving Tottenham this summer are slim despite the speculation over the Frenchman’s future.

Lloris will enter the final 12 months of his contract with Spurs in the summer and it has been reported that the goalkeeper is unlikely to sign a new contract with the North Londoners.

Reports indicate that a return to France is on the cards for the goalkeeper, with Pairs Saint-Germain and his former club Nice both being mooted as potential destinations for the Tottenham man.

Gold has now revealed that the 34-year-old does have a desire to return to his homeland before he retires but that is not likely to happen this summer.

It is revealed that the only way the Spurs captain will leave the club this summer is if he kicks up a fuss and demands to leave, which is deemed to be unlikely.

The report also asserts that Tottenham are open to offering Lloris a new contract as he would be too expensive for the club to replace.

Spurs Web Opinion

Barring a couple of mistakes, Lloris has had a very good season. People seem to forget that his form during the first half of the season was excellent.

The 34-year-old has not shown any real signs to suggest that he is on the decline and I believe we would struggle to upgrade on him without spending big. So, I would be delighted to see Lloris stay and sign a new deal.
