Alasdair Gold reveals update on squad travelling to Slovenia for clash against NS Mura

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Antonio Conte has taken a full-strength squad to Slovenia for Tottenham’s Europe Conference League clash against NS Mura this evening.

With Tottenham sitting second in Group G with six points, four behind group leaders Rennes and just one in front of Vitesse Arnhem, Conte’s men need all three points today.

The Italian revealed in his press conference on Wednesday that he will rotate the squad in order to give some of his players a rest.

Gold has now revealed that while the 52-year-old is expected to make some changes to the starting line up, he has taken all of his big guns to Slovenia in case they are needed.

The journalist states that the likes of Dilan Markanday, Jack Clarke and Brooklyn Lyons-Foster will not be part of the squad despite training with the first team on Wednesday.

He added that 20-year-old Bryan Gil is the youngest travelling player among the travelling contingent. Gold also confirmed that Steven Bergwijn has not made the trip to Slovenia after reporting ill on Wednesday morning.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given how important this game is for Tottenham’s chances of qualifying, it does not surprise me that Conte has taken a strong squad to Slovenia.

However, I do feel sorry for Bergwijn as the game tonight would have been a perfect opportunity for the Dutchman to show Conte what he was capable of.
