Alasdair Gold reveals versatile 21-year-old continues to train with Spurs first-team

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham academy youngster Max Robson has continued training with the senior squad this week ahead of the club’s clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

According to reports, while Destiny Udogie is expected to be fit to start against the Eagles, having fully recovered from his knock, there are still doubts over Pedro Porro’s availability for the upcoming clash (Daily Mail).

It sounds like Postecoglou has turned to the academy for a temporary solution, with Robson being first spotted training with the first team in the video shared by Tottenham’s official channel two weeks ago.

Although, originally a midfielder by trade, the 21-year-old has featured a lot as a right-back in Premier League 2 this season, clocking up 10 appearances so far, with a goal and two assists to his name (Transfermarkt).

Gold has said that the versatile defender has continued to be heavily involved in training over recent days leading up to Saturday’s clash.

The journalist stated that the Tottenham academy graduate has ‘clearly made an impression’ on Postecoglou and his coaching staff, given how frequently he has trained with the senior squad recently.

With Porro not back in training, Robson would have likely been used to make the numbers in the training drills. Although the youngster will certainly take a lot of confidence from being called up, there is little to no chance of the 21-year-old making the matchday squad on Saturday.
