Alasdair Gold reveals what Fonseca’s appointment is likely to mean for Mason and King

Tottenham Hotspur are set for a new look coaching set up heading into next season with the club set to appoint Paulo Fonseca as their new head coach.

Daniel Levy took the decision to part company with Jose Mourinho in April after his side had experienced a dramatic downturn in form having topped the Premier League table in November only to fall to seventh place by the time he received his marching orders.

Also following the Portuguese out of the door were a number of his backroom staff including Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin and Giovanni Cerra who were all relieved of their duties.

One member of the coaching set-up to escape dismissal was Ledley King, who had been working as first-team assistant to Mourinho.

Football.London‘s Alasdair Gold has revealed that King is expected to be part of Fonseca’s new backroom staff.

Ryan Mason, who was appointed as interim head coach for the remainder of the season is expected to return to his former role as head of player development for the Under-17 to Under-23 age grades.
