Alasdair Gold reveals what he anticipates from Spurs in the transfer market this month

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said on his YouTube channel that Tottenham fans should not expect the club to buy any players this month unless they first manage to sell a player.

As is always the case with this time of the year, Spurs have been linked with a number of players across Europe including household names such as Sergio Ramos, Diego Costa and Marcel Sabitzer.

Over recent days, speculation linking Christian Eriksen with a sensational return to the club have also intensified.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Dele Alli could reunite with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain on a temporary loan deal until the end of the season.

Despite the various links, Gold admitted that he expects very little business to be done until the end of the month.

The journalist insisted that the North London club are mainly focusing on loaning out some of their players.

However, for signings to be made, he claimed that the club might have to sell some of their fringe players.

Speaking about what he expects to happen transfer wise, Gold said: “This is where people begin to get very angry with me, but everything I’m hearing is that inside the club, they’re expecting just really outgoing loans, they’re not really expecting incomings.

“The only way that could change is if they suddenly sold a player, but the problem with that is nobody is queuing up to buy Spurs’ non-essential players, they’re just not, the market’s not there.”

Spurs Web Opinion

As reliable as Alasdair Gold is when it comes to all things Spurs, if one casts their minds back to the start of the summer window, he was similarly suggesting that the club will not be too active in the window. So, his sources might not be fully privy to discussions on potential transfer targets.
