Alasdair Gold has revealed that he has been told there is no truth to the rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur with a summer move for Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng or Feyenoord’s Orkun Kokcu.
Previous reports have indicated that Spurs are likely to prioritise strengthening at centre-back during this summer’s transfer window, which does not come as a surprise on the back of their defensive struggles over the past few months.
Boateng’s contract with Bayern runs out this summer and the German club’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has revealed that the centre-back will not be signing a new deal.
Christian Falk revealed last week that the experienced defender remains on Tottenham’s list of targets while Sky Sports in Germany have claimed that the North London club have held concrete talks with the 32-year-old.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham could be set to battle it out with Arsenal for Kokcu’s signature on the back of the impressive season the central midfielder has had for Feyenoord.
However, Gold has revealed that neither player is on Spurs’ radar, according to his sources.
“He’s 32, yes he’s a free transfer, but he’d want big money and he’s just not a Tottenham transfer profile of signing. I’m told there’s no interest there at all.
“There’s a young Feyenoord midfielder, Orkun Kokcu. I’ve seen him linked. Apparently, there’s no interest in him either.”
