Alasdair Gold reveals what he has heard about Harry Kane’s January plans

Alasdair Gold has claimed that Harry Kane is not expecting to leave Tottenham Hotspur during the January transfer window.

Kane’s effort to engineer a move to Manchester City in the summer did not work as Daniel Levy held firm during the transfer window.

Pep Guardiola admitted that Machester City tried everything they could to sign the England captain but Tottenham simply refused to negotiate.

Kane took to social media a week before the transfer window slammed shut to confirm that he would be staying at Spurs this summer.

However, the use of the words “this summer” led some to speculate that the 28-year-old could leave when the transfer window reopens in January.

Gold said last week that he would be ‘stunned’ if Tottenham and Kane’s representatives do not begin talks over a new contract soon.

The journalist has now revealed he has heard from those around the striker that he will see out the remainder of the season with Spurs.

When asked about the possibility of Kane leaving in January in a Q & A with Football.London, Gold responded: “I understand from those around him that he’s going nowhere in January and is looking to the whole season with Spurs.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Big-money deals rarely ever go through in January as it would be near-impossible for clubs to secure replacements for their star players in the middle of the season.

I believe that Paratici will be likely be analysing potential Kane replacements for next summer and I will not be surprised if the striker’s sale is completed early in next summer’s transfer window in order to for the North Londoners to have time to bring in the players they want.
