There is plenty of excitement among Spurs fans about Bergvall’s arrival in the new season, with the 18-year-old continuing to deliver outstanding displays for Djurgardens over the last few months.

The teenager has been tipped for big things back in Sweden but it remains to be seen how he will be able to cope with the increased pressure as well as the step up in quality at N17.

Some reports over the last few months have claimed that Tottenham have no plans on sending the youngster out on loan next season, with Ange Postecoglou thought be envisioning a first-team role for the player (Football Insider).

Bergvall may need six months to adjust to England

Gold believes that the Swede’s ability on the ball would make him a natural fit for Spurs’ style of play but the journalist pointed out that the teenager will have to get accustomed to the pace of play in the English top-flight.

He said on Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast about Bergvall: “The people around him said to give him about six months as the adaptation period. With the ball there will be no issues whatsoever, but it will be the pace of the game, that’s the bit we don’t know how he will deal with him. Technically I think Postecoglou is going to love him.”

I do not think Tottenham fans should expect to see much of Bergvall in his first season at the club. The youngster might get a few starts in the Europa League but Postecoglou will likely be patient with him and give him the time he needs to get up to speed with the intensity of Tottenham’s style.
