Alasdair Gold reveals what he has heard about Tottenham Tielemans rumours

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have distanced themselves from a move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

With the official confirmation of their signing of Richardson on Friday, Tottenham have already secured four players this summer.

Two more are expected to follow in quick succession, with Clement Lenglet reportedly set to fly to London for medical over the weekend to seal a loan move to North London (Marca) while it is alleged to be ‘only a matter of time’ before Spurs agree on a deal for Djed Spence (Rudi Galetti).

Rumours have been doing the rounds on social media over the past couple of days suggesting that Spurs have also opened talks with Leicester over a deal for Tielemans.

Spurs were linked with a move for the Belgian international earlier in the window (GiveMeSport) while Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the Foxes star (The Athletic).

Gold has now said on his YouTube Channel (starting at 38:44) that Tottenham have denied any interest in Tielemans.

The journalist stated that everyone he has spoken to at the North London club have told him that there is no truth to the speculation linking the club with a move for the 25-year-old.

Gold added that while Spurs have had their eye on Tielemans in the past, the midfielder does not appear to be on the club’s radar this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Ndombele and Lo Celso both leave Spurs as expected this summer, I would be surprised if we do not sign an attacking midfielder before the window slams shut.

I suspect that Paratici might look to raid Juve for Weston McKennie, given that the USA international does not seem to be in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.
