Alasdair Gold reveals Hugo Lloris’ classy Dele Alli gesture after full-time whistle

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Hugo Lloris took Dele Alli over to the South Stand to say goodbye to Spurs fans after the final whistle on Monday night.

Alli returned to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time since his transfer deadline day move to Everton in January, with the midfielder once again having to settle for a place on the bench.

The 25-year-old came on with a little over 20 minutes to go, with the Toffees already trailing 5-0.

Gold revealed that Spurs fans cheered the midfielder when he was warming up towards the end of the first half.

For those in attendance and watching on television, the home fans could easily be heard singing the “We’ve got Alli” chant and gave him a standing ovation when he was brought on by Frank Lampard.

Gold also talked about how Harry Kane and Son Heung-min both gave the former MK Dons man a warm embrace after the final whistle.

Finally, he pointed out that Lloris took Alli over to the South Stand where he was applauded by the home faithful and had the chance to finally say goodbye.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dele certainly brought us a lot of joy during his time in North London, which is why he will always be loved by the Tottenham faithful. It was unfortunate that he could not say a proper goodbye to the fans when he left in January. So, I was delighted that he finally got the chance to do so yesterday.
