Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Antonio Conte ‘likes’ Davinson Sanchez but the Colombian could be sold this summer if Tottenham receive the right offer.
Sanchez has not been a regular in Tottenham’s starting eleven for the last two seasons, under either Jose Mourinho or Conte, unless the North Londoners have had injuries at the back.
This season, the former Ajax man proved to be an able deputy to Cristian Romero on the right side of Spurs’ back three when the Argentine was out of action for a couple of months with a hamstring injury picked up in November.
The Colombian once again stepped in for Romero when the former Atlanta man missed Tottenham’s last three games of the campaign with a hip injury, and put in solid displays to help the Lilywhites keep three clean sheets.
Gold has now explained that Conte likes Sanchez, with the Italian believing the centre-back has the tools to be a top defender if he can maintain his concentration throughout the ninety minutes.
However, the journalist explains that the 25-year-old’s future will very much depend on what offers arrive for him this summer.
If a tempting order is made that allows Spurs to recoup the majority of the £42m that the club paid to sign Sanchez in 2017, Gold asserts that the defender could be sold.

My main concern around Sanchez is not his occasional lapses in his concentration but his lack of technical quality on the ball.
While that is not a big issue against teams who sit back and defend deep, the Colombian’s lack of technical proficiency can cost us against teams who are prepared to press us high up the pitch.
I believe that Tanganga is better suited to the right centre-back role in Conte’s back three than Sanchez and I would be surprised if the 25-year-old is still at the club next season.
