Alasdair Gold reveals when Bissouma could be announced – Romano posts ‘here we go’

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to announce their capture of Yves Bissouma by the end of this week.

Reports first emerged on Tuesday suggesting that Spurs had agreed on a £25m fee with Brighton for the transfer of Bissouma, with the midfielder expected to have his medical at Hotspur Way this week (The Times).

According to reports, Spurs have beaten out both Aston Villa and Newcastle United to the 25-year-old, with the Villans allegedly making an offer for the player this window while the Magpies made an enquiry (90 min).

Fabrizio Romano took to social media this morning to give his ‘Here We Go’ seal approval to the transfer, stating that Tottenham will make final contacts with Brighton today on the payment terms before proceeding with the required paperwork.

Gold has now revealed that Bissouma stayed overnight at the Spurs Lodge and is expected to complete his medical today. The journalist added that Tottenham could announce the singing before the end of the week as long as personal terms are tied up quickly.

When asked if Spurs will announce Bissouma’s signing this week, Gold responded on a Q&A on Football.London: “Bissouma was due to fly to the UK on Wednesday and after staying overnight in The Lodge.

“We’re expecting the medical at Hotspur Way on Thursday and if all the personal terms are tied up quickly, which seems to be the case, then we should see the deal announced by the end of the week.

“As I said above with Spurs you can never entirely rule out another couple of random days chucked on the end while they going through all of their processes, but this shouldn’t need to drag out at this point.”

With Fabrizio Romano and Alasdair Gold both stating that it is only a matter of time before the deal is finalised, one would expect Spurs to make the announcement within the next couple of days.

I am extremely excited about Bissouma’s capture and in some respects, I believe the 25-year-old could end up being the player we all hoped Tanguy Ndombele would turn out to be.
