Alasdair Gold reveals whether Gareth Bale Spurs return is likely – Paratici is a big fan

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici is a big fan of Gareth Bale but added that the Welshman is unlikely to return to Spurs this summer.

Bale took to social media this week to send a heartfelt message confirming that he will be leaving Real Madrid, nine years on from joining Los Blancos from Spurs.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett said a couple of weeks ago that his client is likely to return to English football this summer but added that a decision will only be made after Wales’ World Cup qualifier against Ukraine (Record via Eurosport).

Gold has now revealed that while Paratici is a fan of Bale, the feeling inside the Welshman’s camp, as well as those at Spurs, is that a return to North London is unlikely for the player.

He claims that given the winger’s injury issues, there is a belief that the physical demands Antonio Conte puts on his players would be too much for Bale’s body to handle.

Gold adds that there is a growing belief that if the former Spurs man does decide to continue his career, he could return to his hometown side Cardiff City, with Bale said to be open to the idea of playing for the Championship club.

As Gold points out, I do not see Bale and Conte being a good fit at this stage of the Welshman’s career. Even if the 32-year-old accepts a bit-part role at Spurs next season, his body will likely not be able to cope with the demands of Conte’s training sessions.

In addition, Conte clearly only wants to work with players who are 100 per cent committed to the cause, and with Bale essentially playing to remain fit for the World Cup, he cannot be expected to put his body on the line for the club next season.
