Alasdair Gold reveals whether Spurs could try to sign Dybala again

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are only likely to go for Paulo Dybala in the summer should they lose one of their superstars.

Spurs famously came close to snapping up Dybala in 2019 but the move collapsed on transfer deadline day (Independent).

Multiple reports have suggested this week that the North Londoners might try to sign the Juventus man again at the end of the season.

France Football (via Calcio Mercato) claimed that Spurs and Chelsea were set to compete for the Argentine superstar’s signature in the summer, with Juve prepared to move him on.

The Daily Star reported that the Serie A giants are willing to sell Dybala for a fee of around £40m after the forward rejected a new deal offered by the club.

While Gold acknowledged that Dybala is someone that Tottenham like, the journalist admitted that the move is unlikely because of the big fee that Juve are likely to demand for the 27-year-old.

The journalist said on his YouTube channel (as relayed by HITC): “I think I even saw Paolo Dybala linked today, yes, of course, Spurs have had an interest in Dybala in the past, but even with one year left on his contract you’re looking at big money. That’s the sort of deal they’d look at if they sold a superstar to be honest, and we don’t want that.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think any Spurs fan would want Dybala if it meant that we would lose one of either Kane or Son in the summer. One would also assume that there would be plenty of interest from across Europa in Dybala should he become available in the summer which likely means that we would not be able to compete financially.
