Alasdair Gold reveals whether there is truth to Gareth Bale to Spurs rumours

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has claimed there is no truth to reports linking Gareth Bale with a return to Tottenham Hotspur at this moment in time.

OkDiario’s Eduardo Inda claimed on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito on Wednesday that Daniel Levy offered Antonio Conte the chance to bring Eden Hazard to Spurs.

He added that Conte informed the Spurs chairman he does not want the Belgian and instead told him to pursue a deal for Bale, whose contract with Real Madrid runs out at the end of the season.

The speculation has certainly excited some Spurs fans on social media who are dreaming about the prospect of a Bale-Conte linkup.

However, Gold has now poured cold water on the speculation, insisting there is no truth to the rumour.

The journalist revealed that Conte and Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, are yet to discuss potential new signings for the January transfer window or next summer.

The Italian is said to be focussing on improving the squad’s fitness and mentality for the moment.

Gold added that the new Tottenham head coach will fully assess his squad over the coming weeks before the club look to make adjustments in January.

The Bale rumour seems to have spread like wildfire among Tottenham fans on social media even though it has only been reported by one source.

There are plenty of reasons why the rumour seems quite far-fetched, with the biggest one being that Bale is never going to be able to fulfil Conte’s fitness demands.
