Alasdair Gold has revealed via Football.London that Harry Kane is open to signing a new contract at Tottenham if the Ange Postecoglou era proves to be a success.
Over the last couple of weeks, multiple outlets have claimed that Spurs are willing to offer Kane a new deal worth £400,000 per week, which would make the striker the highest-paid player in the Premier League (Telegraph).
However, The Times reported on Thursday that the England captain has no intention of signing a new contract at the moment as he is keen to make the switch to Bayern Munich.

Kane could still sign a new deal next season at Spurs
Gold has now explained that while Kane will not sign a new contract at Spurs right now, the striker is keeping the option of extending his deal at the North London club open.
The journalist asserts that if Tottenham make progress under Ange Postescoglou next season and show signs of challenging for major trophies, the 29-year-old could still be open to committing his future to the club.
Gold wrote: ‘Harry Kane will not sign a new contract with Tottenham this summer but extending his deal is still an option he is open to if he remains in N17 and the club is making progress under Ange Postecoglou.’

Realistically, Postecoglou would have to perform a miracle to convince Kane to extend his contract at Tottenham. A mere top-four finish is not likely to be enough to persuade the striker, with Spurs potentially needing to challenge for the title.
That is why the choice is pretty straightforward for the Spurs hierarchy at the moment – cash in on Kane now or lose him on a free next summer.
