Alasdair Gold says one Spurs youngster has ‘impressed so many’ at the club

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been very excited by Mikey Moore’s recent involvement with the senior squad, and it seems those behind the scenes at the club have been very impressed with what they saw over the last fortnight.

With Spurs having a two-week break from Premier League fixtures, the decision was made to promote Moore from the youth squad up to the first-team squad for training.

Things went well, with Ange Postecoglou describing the 16-year-old’s involvement as being ‘really good’ and mentioning that he always receives ‘outstanding’ reports on the youngster (Football.London).

Mikey Moore is impressing at Hotspur Way

Many had hoped that Moore would be given a chance to join the matchday squad for the North London derby, especially when the teenager was spotted among the Spurs entourage arriving at the stadium for the game.

Unfortunately, he was not named among the substitutes, but just a few days later, Moore made his first appearance on the bench away to Chelsea.

Alasdair Gold said on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast: “Massive experience for a 16-year-old and it shows how far he’s come over the past couple of weeks training with the first-team, he’s impressed so many people.”

It’s a shame Mikey Moore didn’t get any minutes last night, but the fact he was there with the team is a massive step in his development, and we surely won’t have to wait long until we see him playing for the senior side.
