Alasdair Gold says report on Spurs midfielder’s future is ‘wide of the mark’

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has claimed there is no truth to reports that Antonio Conte wants Tottenham to sell Tanguy Nndombele when the transfer window opens in January.

Ndombele is yet to start a game in the Premier League since Conte’s arrival in North London.

The Italian admitted last week that the French international needs to work harder than most other players because of the talent he possesses.

Football Insider have claimed the Spurs boss has already made up his mind that the 24-year-old is not going to be part of his plans.

The report suggested the 52-year-old had told Tottenham chiefs to cash in on the midfielder and use the money from his sale to bring new players in.

Gold has now dismissed these claims as being ‘wide off the mark’. The journalist revealed that Conte is yet to evaluate Ndombele fully in the match action and will only make a decision once he has done that.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans should certainly be trusting Alasdair Gold over Football Insider on this matter. The initial report did not pass the sniff test as one would assume that it is too early for Conte to make up his mind on such a talented player like Ndombele without taking a closer look at what he could offer.
