Alasdair Gold says Spurs are hoping an ‘auction’ takes place for their player this summer

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Joe Rodon will leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and that the North London club are hopeful of getting a decent fee for the centre-back.

Rodon has had an extremely impressive season on loan at Leeds United, with Daniel Farke’s side sitting at the top of the Championship table, owing in part to the centre-back’s solid displays at the back.

TEAMtalk reported earlier this month that Leeds are keen on securing the centre-back permanently and are expected to open talks with Spurs about the same this summer irrespective of whether they get promoted.

Last week, HITC revealed that Tottenham had already informed the Welshman and his entourage that he is free to find a new club next summer.

Alasdair Gold says Joe Rodon will leave Spurs

Gold has now confirmed that Rodon will be leaving Hotspur Way this summer, four years on from his move from Swansea City.

However, he says the centre-back might not necessarily head to Elland Road even if Leeds get promoted as other clubs are also likely to vie for his signature.

The journalist adds that Tottenham are hoping that an ‘auction’ could take place for the 26-year-old and that he could bring in ‘some good money’ this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that there will be plenty of takers for Rodon this summer. With Wales failing to qualify for the Euros, the centre-back’s future could be sorted out quite early in the summer. His preference would likely be to move to Leeds as he looks quite settled at the club.
