Alasdair Gold says Spurs target is ‘not worried’ about competition for places

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tosin Adarabioyo is not worried about the potential competition for places at Tottenham and is open to moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Last week, Gold had reported in his column on Football.London that the Englishman was among the names at the top of Spurs’ wishlist ahead of the summer as the club look to bolster their options at centre-back.

He asserted that the 26-year-old, whose current deal at Craven Cottage runs out in June, would be open to making a switch across London.

A couple of days ago, Football Insider asserted that Adarabioyo is increasingly likely to leave Fulham on a free transfer after rejecting the West London club’s advances over a new deal.

The report added that apart from Spurs, the likes of West Ham, Liverpool, Monaco, AC Milan and other Serie A clubs are also circling over the centre-back.

Tosin Adarabioyo is not afraid of competition at Spurs

Gold has now provided an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Adarabioyo, revealing that the Englishman is not put off by the prospect of battling the likes of Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin for a place in the Lilywhites’ starting eleven.

The journalist said on his YouTube channel: “I know from what I understand Spurs are expected to firm up their interest in Tosin Adarabioyo at the end of the season on a free transfer.

“He’s been a star player for Fulham this season, we saw first-hand against Spurs that he helped Fulham keep a clean sheet. Fulham have been unable to keep him and there’s a growing interest in him.

“Yeah, any player who is going to come in in that fourth centre-back spot is going to have a battle on their hands with Van de Ven, Romero and Dragusin as well. But from what I understand is that he’s not worried about that challenge if that was the move he makes.”

If Adarabioyo is willing to make the move to Tottenham, he would undoubtedly be the North London club’s top choice. The 25-year-old is quick, technically gifted, is homegrown, has Premier League experience and is potentially set to be available on a free transfer, which makes it a no-brainer for Spurs.
