Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has shed light on Fabio Paratici’s antics during the game against Manchester United on Saturday, which is potentially quite revealing about the club’s reason for sacking Nuno Espirito Santo.
Tottenham’s 3-0 loss at home against Manchester United proved the final nail in the coffin of Nuno and coaching staff, whose departure was confirmed by Spurs this morning.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Paratici expressed regret at things not working out for Nuno and praised the Portuguese coach for the way he conducted himself during his four months at the helm.
According to reports, Paratici and chairman Daniel Levy are set for a face-to-face meeting with Antonio Conte over taking over, with the Italian potentially set to be announced as the next head coach as early as tomorrow.
Gold has now highlighted an incident that occurred in the stands during Tottenham’s 3-0 loss to the Red Devils that might have signalled the end for Nuno.
The journalist revealed that when Edison Cavani put the away side 2-0 up in the 64th minute, Paratici was so furious that he stormed off from his seat.
Gold revealed that Tottenham’s managing director of football did not return to his seat for the remainder of the game.

He went on to suggest that Paratici’s action was the biggest indication yet that he had lost patience with Nuno, who the Italian convinced Levy to appoint in the summer once the talks with Conte had collapsed.

The nature of the goal suggested huge problems with the team’s organisation at the back on top of our inability to create chances.
