Alasdair Gold weighs in on Tottenham rumours surrounding Paulo Dybala

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are not considering a move for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala this summer.

Dybala has confirmed that he will be leaving Juventus when his contract with the Serie A giants runs out in the summer.

Earlier this week, multiple sources (Pedro Almeida and Christian Martin) revealed that the North Londoners had pushed ahead with a move for the Argentina international.

However, this was dismissed by Fabrizio Romano, who insisted that Spurs had not held any talks with the 28-year-old’s representatives over a transfer.

Gold has now backed up Romano’s claim, stating that Tottenham do not consider Dybala an option as things stand.

The journalist explains that Spurs’ managing director of football Fabio Paratici is not ‘wholly convinced’ that the former Palermo man would be the right fit for Antonio Conte’s project.

Gold adds that Paratici was one of the people at Juve who was looking to sell Dybala back in the summer of 2019 when the forward came close to joining Tottenham.

The only position where Dybala would fit into Conte’s 3-4-3 is on the right, where Dejan Kulusevski has done well. We also have a reasonable backup option for that role in Lucas.  So, the Dybala links never made a lot of sense and I suspect the speculation is being driven by the Juve forward’s representatives.
