Alderweireld to return to full training next week

An article in the London Evening Standard has said Toby Alderweireld is expected to return to full training next week and is targeting a first-team return at Anfield against Liverpool on February 4th

The Belgian defender has not played since damaging his hamstring in a Champions League tie against Real Madrid on November 1st

The article goes on to say he has now resumed outdoor training alone and gave he  hopes to join in with the squad after Sunday’s match at Southampton.

In other news young midfielder Harry Winks has been ruled out for a further two weeks which takes in the game against Saints and the FA Cup tie with Newport County, a week on Saturday, with an ankle injury.

It goes on to say that left back Danny Rose is expected to return to action at the end of the month following a knee problem.

It’s good timing with a very busy few weeks ahead and it will be interesting to see what Pochettino can do with a full squad at his disposal.
