A report has claimed that Ange Postecoglou has already decided that Alejo Veliz, who is currently out on loan, will not be part of his Tottenham first-team plans next season.
A number of Tottenham’s youngsters are thriving out on loan and look ready to stake a claim for a first-team spot when they return to Hotspur Way ahead of next season.
However, one man who has struggled to do so is Alejo Veliz, who continues to have a bit-part role at Espanyol and has looked well short of the expected standard when opportunities have come his way this season.
It has even been reported over recent weeks that River Plate are ready to offer Veliz a route back to Argentina, having identified the Tottenham Hotspur man as one of their top targets.
Ange Postecoglou’s plans for Alejo Veliz revealed
A couple of days ago, reports from Argentina confirmed that Veliz will return to Hotspur Way this summer, with Tottenham yet to finalise any transfer plans for the player.
The same information has now been backed up by Bolavip who say that the 21-year-old will return to Tottenham for pre-season ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
However, the outlet adds that ‘everything indicates that he will face a difficult situation again’ at Tottenham just like he did during the first half of last season when he found game time hard to come by.
The publication asserts that it has already been decided that Veliz will not be part of Spurs’ plans for next season.
Ange Postecoglou’s future may have a bearing on Veliz
It might be a little redundant to speculate on what the Tottenham head coach is planning for next season as he is not guaranteed to still be in his job.
It has been reported that Postecoglou would have to achieve European qualification to avoid being sacked, which means that there is a very real chance that a different man will be in charge next summer.
Veliz may potentially even get a fresh start and a blank slate under a new head coach when he returns to Spurs in the summer.
