Alexander Isak comments on his Newcastle future amid Spurs and Arsenal links

Rumoured Tottenham target Alexander Isak has now admitted that he is loving life at Newcastle United and declared his intention to remain at the club next season.

Although Isak has had more than his fair share of injuries since arriving at St James’ Park two years ago, the forward has oozed class whenever he has featured and proven his quality in front of goal.

The Sweden international has found the back of the net 19 times across all competitions for the Magpies this season but it has been suggested over recent days that his future at the club might come to an abrupt end this season.

This information was carried by The Sun, who reported a couple of days ago that Newcastle are bracing for bids from both Tottenham and Arsenal for their star striker.

The outlet explained that while Eddie Howe wanted to keep hold of the 24-year-old, Newcastle might be forced to sell him in order to comply with the FFP regulations.

However, Isak has now poured cold water on the speculation linking him with a move away from the North East.

When asked if he wants to stay at the club beyond the summer, he said (via I Sport reporter Mark Douglas): “Of course, I want to be here at Newcastle in the future! I came here for the project, I absolutely love playing here, I really feel at home. I want to finish this season in a good way. I love playing here.”

While it is possible that Newcastle could still decide to sell Isak due to their financial problems, one would assume that Howe would sacrifice other players rather than let go of his talismanic striker.

Either way, the 24-year-old would not be a realistic target for Tottenham as the Magpies are likely to demand a humongous offer for the player.
