Alfie Whiteman says one Spurs player trains like ‘a monster with everything’

Alfie Whiteman has admitted he loves working with Fraser Forster, revealing that the experienced goalkeeper is one of the nicest people he knows.

Forster arrived at Tottenham from Southampton 18 months ago, with the Englishman serving as a backup to Hugo Lloris last season and before deputising for Guglielmo Vicario after the Italian arrived last summer.

While the 35-year-old got plenty of game time last season due to Lloris’ injury woes, his only appearance so far this season came in the Carabao Cup clash against Fulham back in August of last year.

With Spurs only having the Premier League to focus on at the moment, Forster looks unlikely to get any more minutes this season.

It has been widely reported by various journalists that the 35-year-old is a model professional, who trains very hard regularly (Tom Allnutt – The Tottenham Way Podcast) while Micky van de Ven recently named the goalkeeper as the funniest player at Spurs (Club’s official website).

Forster, who is currently out with an injury, has now been praised by Whiteman, who described the former Saints star as a ‘big friendly giant’.

When asked on The Off The Shelf Podcast: “Everyone talks about how Fraser trains, he’s like a monster ain’t he? He’s a monster with everything. In the gym, as a professional, but he’s the Big Friendly Giant, he’s the nicest and sweetest person I know.”

Foster is an excellent number two to have as not only is he more than capable of stepping in and delivering reliable performances in case of an injury to Vicario but having a character like him at the club is great for the dressing room morale.
