Kieran Trippier completed his exit from Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month when he made the move to Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old headed to Spain in a £20million deal which ended a four-year stint in North London (Telegraph).
Trippier struggled with form last season after making high profile errors in matches against Arsenal, Chelsea and Ajax which led to goals being conceded.
His inconsistent displays saw him dropped from the England squad for this summer’s UEFA Nations fixtures with Gareth Southgate instead opting to go with Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold (Express).
The former Burnley man was in action for Atletico during their pre-season match against cross-city rivals Real Madrid in the USA and after the match he hinted during an interview with Sky Sports that ‘behind-the-scenes’ incidents led to him wanting to leave Spurs.
Tripper’s comments have certainly angered some pockets of the Spurs support who have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on what he had to say.
