‘All these rumours’ – Hugo Lloris addresses speculation linking Conte with PSG job

Hugo Lloris has insisted that no one at Tottenham is paying any heed to the speculation over Antonio Conte’s future.

Some reports over the last few months have indicated Conte could walk away from Tottenham in the summer (Telegraph).

The prospect of Mauricio Pochettino returning to Spurs has been mooted, with Football Insider claiming that the Argentine would jump at the chance of completing a fairytale return to the North London club.

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reported this week that the prospect of Conte replacing Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain cannot be ruled out, with the former Spurs boss now at the risk of losing his job with the Ligue 1 giants.

However, Lloris has insisted it is only natural for all top managers in world football to be linked with the PSG job, with the French club still chasing the elusive Champions League trophy.

The Tottenham captain insisted that no one at Spurs is paying any attention to what is being said and written about their head coach’s future.

When asked about the speculation linking Conte to PSG, Lloris told Europe 1: “I think all the best managers are linked with PSG since they are chasing elite status and a Champions League victory.

“And for that, they try to trust the best. So, we know the football industry. All these rumours, all this speculation. We’re in our bubble and we’re doing the best for our club.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Seeing how competitive a character Conte is, I do not think he will be overly enthused about the PSG job as it will not be much of a challenge to win a title in Paris.

Conte’s record in the Champions League is not anything to write home about either and so, he does not appear to be a good fit for the Ligue 1 giants.

Besides, I am extremely confident that the Italian will be backed by Spurs in this summer’s transfer window as the Tottenham hierarchy seem invested in making the appointment work.
