All you need to know about Spurs-bound Luka Vuskovic

Luka Vuskovic, who is rumoured to be on his way to Tottenham, is considered by many to be one of the best centre-backs in his age group around the world.

If reports over the last 24 hours are to be believed, Spurs have seemingly won the race to sign Vuskovic, with Fabrizio Romano revealing on Sunday that the highly-rated 16-year-old Croatian is on the verge of joining the North London club.

The journalist stated that Tottenham have agreed to personal terms with the 16-year-old, with the final paperwork now being finalised between the two clubs.

Here’s all you need to know about Luka Vuskovic:

The youngster, who came through the ranks of the Hajduk Split academy, made his debut for the club just two days after turning 16 in a big derby against Dinamo Zagreb back in February.

He delivered an impressive display on the night and has not looked back since, having subsequently gone on to make 11 senior appearances for the club across all competitions.

The teenager, who is strong in duals and is good in possession, often striding out with the ball from the back, has been on the radar of several top sides in the Premier League.

The Daily Mail reported back in April that Liverpool, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Manchester City were all eyeing Vuskovic, with City even said to have considered making a £12m offer for him at the time.

So, if the deal does go through, Tottenham might have a gem on their hands, with the centre-back widely expected to reach the very top.

Tottenham’s acquisitions of Alejo Veliz, Ashley Phillips, and now allegedly Vuskovic (and previously Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie), shows that the club have altered their transfer strategy, and are looking to sign young gems before they explode on the big stage.
