All you need to know about rumoured Spurs target Giovani Lo Celso

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Tottenham are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Giovani Lo Celso who is currently on loan at Real Betis.

The midfielder’s performances in La Liga this season has reportedly caught the attention of several big hitters including Real Madrid.

Betis have the option to sign him permanently for £ 21.5million, and it is claimed that they plan on taking up that option and then moving him on for a considerable profit.

Here’s all you need to know about the stylish midfielder

Full Name: Giovani Lo Celso

Age: 22

Club: Paris Saint-Germain (on loan at Real Betis)

Nationality: Argentina

Position: Center midfielder

Playing Style: Lo Celso is a versatile midfielder who is capable of playing an attacking role as a relatively deeper role where he can pick the back from the defence and start off attacks. He is a technically gifted player with a lovely left foot who can handle the ball in tight spaces. He is also adept at threading through balls to runners.

Strengths: Ability to carry the ball, one touch passing

Weaknesses: Physical strength

Highlights of His Career: Lo Celso had a great 17/18 season with PSG as he featured 48 times for the Ligue 1 giants which is no easy feat considering the talent they have in their squad. He has done even better this season on loan at Real Betis where he has proved himself to be a dangerous attacking threat, netting 12 goals until now.

Rumour rating: C-

Giovani Lo Celso fits the bill perfectly for Tottenham as they are crying out for a central midfielder who is as good on the ball as him. However, it is not clear if PSG will let him go given the fact that he was a vital member of their squad last season, and has done well on loan at Betis. Even if Betis take up the option of buying him and then plan to move him on, there are reportedly a lot of suitors for the young midfielder, which would make it hard for Spurs to seal the deal for him.
