‘Almost certainly’ – Journalist makes confident prediction on Spurs January plans

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will ‘almost certainly’ be active in the January transfer window.

It has now been over a week since the transfer window opened and while Tottenham have been heavily linked with the likes of Wolves winger Adama Traore, there is yet to be any incomings or outgoings at the North London club.

Some reports have previously claimed that Antonio Conte is set to be backed to the tune of £150m by the Lilywhites.

Meanwhile, the likes of ESPN and Gianluca Di Marzio have said that while Spurs will give Conte a significant amount of money to spend, most of their business is likely to be done next summer rather than in January.

Tottenham are thought to be prioritising signing a right-wing-back and a striker before the end of the month. Thomas has now confidently asserted that Spurs will do some business in January.

Tottenham fans should not expect more than two new signings this month as it is often difficult to get good value for money in January deals. A deal for Traore now looks increasingly likely but it remains to be seen which striker (if any) the club are likely to go for this month.
