‘Already had two meetings’ – Fabrizio Romano update on Spurs and Antonio Nusa

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have held multiple meetings with Club Brugge regarding Antonio Nusa and explained that the Lilywhites are laying the groundwork to ensure their opening offer for the winger is accepted.

It is fair to say that some Spurs fans are getting restless that the club have not been able to get the Nusa deal over the line despite seemingly being locked in talks with Brugge for over a week.

On Monday, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed that the Lilywhite are yet to officially launch an offer for the 18-year-old.

The journalist explained that other Premier League sides are also circling over the teenager, with some sources in Belgium alleged to be putting Brugge’s asking price at £30m.

Tottenham have had two meetings about Antonio Nusa

Romano has now explained that the lack of an offer from Spurs for Nusa should not be a matter of concern for Tottenham fans.

He explained that the North London club will continue to hold verbal talks until they are convinced that their first official bid for the Norway international would be accepted by Brugge.

Romano told GiveMeSport: “We’re at the contact stage of negotiations for Nusa. Tottenham are speaking to Club Brugge. They have already had two meetings about Nusa.

“So, the negotiation is ongoing and, at the moment, everything is verbal. It’s similar to what happened with Dragusin before putting in an official bid.

“Tottenham work like this. They have a verbal conversation with the club, and then the official bid is there as soon as they know the offer will probably be accepted upon some final details.”

The negotiations might drag into the final week of the transfer window but based on the various updates over the last few days, it does seem like Spurs are steadily making progress in their efforts to land Nusa.

The concern, as always, is that another club will swoop in and offer more for the winger just as Bayern threatened to for Radu Dragusin.
