Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports that Fabio Paratici already has appeared to have began his work in overhauling the squad.
Mauricio Pochettino warned in 2019 that a painful rebuild needed to happen among the playing personnel in North London (Evening Standard), but found himself having been dismissed by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy just six months later.
Paratici’s appointment is yet to be confirmed by Tottenham, with the Italian expected to take up the position of general manager where he will oversee all football matters (The Athletic).
Alasdair Gold revealed in an article on Football.London yesterday that it is his understanding that Paratici has been working on the sale of players to generate funds for new arrivals.
A number of players have already been told they have been made available for transfer this summer with their agents given the heads up to allow them to begin work on helping to find a new club.
Here is how some of the North London faithful reacted to the news.
A lot of players should be given this message. Not that we can sell everybody, but we need buyers to move players on. The more players up for sale, the more chances we’ll have to renew the squad.

We have to find a buyer, for the right fee and the player wanting to go. Not that easy to offload players.

This is great stuff! He comes in without a manager and starts doing what Levy should have been doing 3 years ago… pushing out dead weight. So long and many thanks to Sissoko, Sanchez, Aurier, Dier, Winks, Lamela, amongst others.

The news we’ve needed to hear for the past 3 seasons

Already love this guy and he hasn’t even been officially signed by the club yet

And so the clear out begins. I hope he does as good a job at it as David Pleat done all those years ago.
Players have been great servants but time to refresh is overdue— iblis (@cornersideover) June 11, 2021
Finally a man that can tell deadwood to leave

To people saying both Dele and Winks need to leave. Do they realize we need English players to come in before we can sell. If Winks can’t handle being on the bench then he can go, but Dele should be given more chances, provided we get a creative midfielder to compliment him #coys
