The centre-back was partly to blame for being out of position for at least two of the home side’s three goals.
Even though Jose Mourinho praised the 26-year-old for winning almost every long ball in the first half (Football.London) his lapses in concentration eventually let Spurs down.
It is not just Dier’s defending that received negativity on social media and his new hairstyle was not met with much enthusiasm either.
The England international’s was the butt of jokes among fans on social media due to his new trim.

Amazon Prime, who are filming a behind-the-scenes documentary of Tottenham’s season for their series, ‘All or Nothing’, also got in on the act and ridiculed the Spurs star’s new look.
They suggested that perhaps Dier had asked his barber for a ‘Playstation 5 trim’.

I might be in the minority here but I actually think the short mohawk suits Dier quite nicely. He looks intimidating with the new trim, especially given his blood and thunder style of defending where he throws himself at every ball.
