Amazon series shows Mourinho had difficulty with two players’ names after joining Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Jose Mourinho had difficulty with two of his players’ named when first joining the club back in November 2019.

Mourinho took over from Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked under 24-hours before The Special One signed on the dotted line with the Lilywhites.

Of course, this was all captured by the Amazon Prime cameras that were deployed around the club for the ‘All or Nothing’ series, the first three episodes of which were released last night.

During his first training session as the Spurs boss, Mourinho could be seen getting to know his new players and their names, however, he had some difficulty with both Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters (All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur – Episode 1 – 33mins).

Clearly deciding that Kane was more deserving of the name ‘Harry’, Mourinho referred to Winks by his surname before asking Rose what to call him.

“This kid, Winks, is Harry Winks, no?” Mourinho asked a nearby Danny Rose.

Rose: “Harry, yeah.”

Jose: “So what do we call the guy?”

Rose: “Winksy.”

Jose: “Because the other one is Harry?”

Rose: “Yeah.”

Mourinho was also filmed reacting to the performances of Kyle Walker-Peters in training, first referring to him as ‘kid’ before asking him what he liked to go by.

Jose: “Good, kid! Good, kid! Well done! Good progression, Walker! Walker or Peters, what do you like?”

KWP: “Walker-Peters.”

Jose: “Both?”

KWP: “Yeah.”

Jose: “It’s too long, man! It’s too long for me!”

Fortunately for Mourinho, that is no longer a problem he will have as Walker-Peters transferred to Southampton this summer.
