‘An absolute starter’ – Agent admits Tottenham star is unlikely to leave

Lucas Moura’s agent has admitted that the chances of his client returning to Brazilian football in the near future are ‘very small’.

Until this season, Moura had not quite managed to nail down a regular place in the starting eleven at Tottenham over a long period of time.

The Brazilian has had plenty of sublime moments in a Spurs shirt but consistency has been an issue that has plagued him.

However, the 29-year-old has become a regular in the side since this season and the winger has repaid that faith with some valuable displays.

Last week, Moura came off the bench to score the winner against Burnley on Wednesday to send Tottenham through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The former Paris Saint-Germain man admitted last month that he wishes to return to Sao Paulo later in his career, the club where he came through the ranks.

However, his agent Junior Pedroso has now claimed the chances of Moura leaving Spurs are slim.

Pedroso told Yahoo Sports: “The possibility of Lucas’s return (to Sao Paulo) now is very, very, very small. He is an absolute starter at Tottenham.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is evident that Nuno trusts Moura and I see the Brazilian continuing to play a key part for us this season. The 29-year-old more than deserves a run in the side as his direct and aggressive style sets him apart from our other attacking players.
