Jermain Defoe has admitted that there are some very talented players coming through the ranks of the Tottenham academy at the moment, which is why there is a lot of excitement at Hotspur Way at the moment.
There are some top young talents in the Under-21 set-up at Spurs, with the likes of Alfie Devine, Dane Scarlet, Alfie Dorrington, Jamie Donley and others being on the cusp of breaking into the senior side.
Additionally, there are also some outstanding talents in the lower age groups with the likes of Mikey Moore and Callum Olusesi thought to be seen as potential superstars by many who work in the game (Alasdair Gold –Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast).

Having coached the Under-18s for the last year and a half, Defoe has seen first-hand the kind of talent that Spurs now have in their ranks, with the striker admitting that he would love for many of them to have a career at the top level.
The 41-year-old told Yahoo Sport: “It is an exciting group. Last year was brilliant when we won two trophies. We have some really exciting players and I would love to see them go on and have a career in the game.”
Defoe explained that the excitement at Tottenham is not confined to the academy set-up, revealing that there is a real feelgood factor around the club at the moment.
He added: “I’ve been at the club a long time now. Nine years as a player, second year as a coach, so I know what it feels like when the place is buzzing and the stadium is rocking at the minute.
“Of course, the results are the most important thing, but the performances and how the team is playing under Ange, it has been fantastic.”
