‘An unbelievable player’ – Manager lauds Spurs striker target after another brace

Tottenham Hotspur were on the hunt for a striker in the January transfer window after a nasty and unfortunate injury to their main man, Harry Kane.

Kane managed to rupture the tendon in his left hamstring while playing against Southampton on New Years Day, but Spurs were unable to find a suitable replacement.

Therefore, Mourinho must now make do with Heung Min Son, Lucas Moura, and Steven Bergwijn as makeshift strikers until Kane makes his return.

One player who was linked with January interest from Spurs was Celtic hitman Odsonne Edouard, who has been in blistering form in Scotland this season.

90Min reported that Spurs, Man United, and Chelsea were all keen on the striker in January, although none managed to land him.

After adding two more goals against Motherwell to his 18 previous strikes this season in the Scottish Premiership, Celtic manager Neil Lennon lauded the forward for his quality finishing.

He said (Daily Record): ”He’s just magnificent. He was magnificent all night but second half some of his play, some of his link-up play, his passing, and his finishing was just world-class. He’s just an unbelievable player.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would argue that Spurs need more of a like-for-like Kane replacement, a big target man such as Vedat Muriqi. Having said that, I would certainly not be upset with a bid for Edouard in the summer.
